The Yuma Proving Ground Heritage Center records and displays the history of the US Army's training site and test range. First established in 1942, the grounds were used as a training site during World War II, and currently serves as a facility in helping to develop the concept of the "21st Century Soldier." Visitors to the heritage center can see antique items and more recent activities undertaken by the army facility. It is located on the grounds of the army base, about 30 miles by car from the town of Yuma.
